# Method stdAxis

#### static member stdAxis: int * Tensor<'T> * int64 option -> Tensor<'T>

Calculates the standard deviation of the elements along the specified axis.

##### Declaration

`static member stdAxis: ax:int * a:Tensor<'T> * ddof:int64 option -> Tensor<'T>`

##### Parameters

int | ax | The axis to operate along. |

Tensor<'T> | a | The tensor containing the source values. |

int64 option | ddof | The delta degrees of freedom. (default: 0L) |

##### Returns

Tensor<'T> | A new tensor containing the result of this operation. |

##### Remarks

The standard deviation is calculated along the specified axis.

The parameter `ddof`

specifies the difference between the number of elements and the
degrees of freedom for the computation of the variance. Use `ddof=1`

to obtain an unbiased estimate and
`ddof=0`

for a maximum-likelihood estimate.
